Quick, do-it
yourself installation
You don't
even have to hire someone to install it. Just select a
sunny spot, unroll EZ Heat, connect a filter hose
between EZ Heat and the filter outlet and another
between EZ Heat and the pool inlet, using hose clamps.
Turn on the filter pump and turn on the control valve.
EZ Heat starts heating the pool, all in less than thirty
minutes, with no special skills needed. Put your hand in
the water entering the pool. You'll be pleased with its
warmth.
Which EZ Heat
is right for my pool
EZ Heat is
made in three model lines. Two model lines have solar
collectors in 12, 20 or 25-foot lengths for different
size pools. Ninety percent of the heat
loss on most pools is from the water surface. Therefore, the
surface area of the swimming pool determines the
total area of the solar collectors needed to heat
the pool.
Select EZ Heat
systems from the table in the EZ Heat table.
The solar
collector area provided by this table should warm
the pool during the normal swimming season to a
temperature that is 8 to 10 degrees higher than
that of an unheated pool if you use a cover at
night and in bad weather.
For higher
temperatures and a longer season you can double
the size of the system by adding a Basic system
to an EZ Heat system.
Use Coupling Kit
Pt. #1006. To double the size of EZ Heat Deluxe
use System Extender, Pt. #1020.
With
any solar system, if you want to eliminate the
pool cover and raise the temperature of the pool
more than 10 degrees above an unheated pool, the
total area of your solar collectors should be at
least 60 percent of the pool surface area. In
addition, you should increase the size to
compensate for less than ideal locations.

EZ Heat is the only above-ground
system made with a three-port control valve.
It lets you shut off the solar system when
the pool has reached your desired
temperature or in cold or rainy weather.
If water runs
through the solar system in bad weather it
will cool your pool. Without a way to shut
off the system when the pool is warm enough,
you could find yourself with an oversize hot
tub.

EZ Heat Basic is the same as EZ Heat except
that it has no control valve. It is the lowest cost
heater you can buy, but the only way to shut it off is
to turn off the pump. You can add EZ Heat Basic units to
an EZ Heat to get more heat.
| You may want
more heat when you decide you want the pool
to warm up faster after bad weather or give
you warmer water in the spring and fall.
You can also
mount EZ Heat Basic on a roof where the EZ
Heat control valve would not be accessible.
However, if
you plan to put your system on the roof, we
suggest you look at our Hi-Tec Pool Heaters.

features of EZ Heat plus an oversize 4x25
solar collector with 50 solar collector
tubes in parallel flow delivering maximum
heat to the pool.
EZ Heat Deluxe
also has a special oversize three-port
control valve.
