Why Choose Self
Contained or Centrex? There are two
different categories of Sun-Mar systems
to choose from, Self-Contained units and
Central Composting Toilet Systems. All of
our models, 22 in number, fit into one or
the other category. Within each category,
we offer units for any power system;
on-grid, off-grid, or no power at all.
Finding the toilet best suited to your
needs is as easy as answering a few
simple questions. Do you want a flush
toilet? Do you want to avoid putting in
plumbing? Do you need a unit for four or
more residential users? Choose your
category based on these general
preferences.
On all
central units, waste entry is on the
left, and compost travels along to the
right. On Centrex 1000 and Centrex 2000
units, compost is extracted into the
drawer by rotating the drum backwards. On
Centrex 3000 series units compost passes
right through the unit and out into a
collection chamber. Bulking material is
added with the scoop provided after first
removing or lifting the access port on
the left, and then rotating the drum
until the waste entry port is opposite
the access port.
All
central units are fitted with a removable
evaporating tray which is located under
the screen, and a drawer at the right
into which composted material can be
removed by rotating the drum backwards.
All three central units families can
accommodate a 1 pint flush toilet,
whereas a Dry Toilet can only be used
with Centrex 2000 and 3000 series units.
